This is the Privacy Policy for Handprint. It explains how we at Handprint Ventures SPC (“Handprint,” “us” or “we”) collect and treat information through all websites, mobile applications, products and services (collectively, our “Services”) as an individual end user (“Talent”), a company or organization seeking to hire Talent (“Organization”), or a visitor to our Services (“Visitor”). This Privacy Policy is governed by and part of our Terms of Use. Any terms defined in the Terms of Use have the same meaning when used in this Privacy Policy.
Our Services are built to connect people seeking meaningful work with companies who believe in business as a force for good. We are committed to providing our Services in a manner that respects your privacy, starting with this privacy promise to you:
Handprint as Controller: When we collect Personal Information from you as a Visitor or Talent, we act as a controller, and we treat that Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Handprint as Processor: When Organizers use our Services, we act as a processor or service provider and the Organizer is the controller. Organizers use and process your Personal Information according to their own privacy practices, not ours.
Organizations: This Privacy Policy applies to Services offered by Handprint. It does not apply to third-party services or platforms, including the Organizations that use our Services to post listings or connect with Talent. Any use of our Services by Organizations is subject to the respective Client’s privacy practices, not ours. Please direct any questions or concerns relating to an Organization’s use of our Services to the respective Organization.
Your Choices: You can always control your Personal Information on our Services by updating or deleting the information on your account. If you need assistance, we encourage you to submit requests here.
Your Rights: We welcome your requests to restrict our use or processing of your Personal Information in accordance with your privacy rights. Please be sure to read our special notices if you reside in California or certain other U.S. States, Canada, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
Our Promise: Handprint will always update our privacy policy if this promise changes in any way.

By accessing or using our Services in any way, you consent to our privacy practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not access or use our Services.
Identifiers (e.g., name, email, telephone number, address, username);
Sensitive Personal Information (e.g., government identification number; precise geolocation; racial or ethnic origin; religious beliefs; health information; contents of messages when we are not the recipient; in some cases, information about a known child);
Legally protected information (e.g., race, citizenship, marital status, sex);
Employment-related information (e.g., current or past employment);
Non-public educational information, including information protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (20 U.S.C. § 1232g, 34 C.F.R. Part 99);
Biometrics (e.g., DNA, face/voice prints, health data) and audio, electronic, visual, thermal, or olfactory information;
Inferences drawn from Personal Information to create a profile about preferences, characteristics, trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, and aptitudes;
Commercial information (e.g., products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies); and
Internet or other similar activity (e.g., browsing history; content interactions).
Exceptions to Personal Information include: (i) publicly available; (ii) aggregated information, meaning data summaries or reports with the Personal Information removed; or (iii) anonymized or de-identified may not be covered by the privacy laws applicable to you.
From you as Talent, with your consent. If you register as Talent, you will create a profile with your name, email, phone number, city and state, and important information related to your job search. You also have the option to list your pronouns, employment and education information, and job search preferences. When you apply for a position, you will have the option to answer application questions. If you link your Talent account with your account on social media or another third-party platform, you consent to Handprint automatically collecting your Personal Information from your third-party account. We collect this information with your consent, and we use it to connect you with Organizations as part of your job search and to provide you with the Services you request.
As Talent, you have choices about the information listed on your profile and shared with Organizations and other users. Any additional information you provide on your profile is your choice, and you can update or delete your information at any time. Please do not post or add Personal Information to the Services that you would not want to be publicly available.
From you as point of contact for an Organization, with your consent. If you register as point of contact to facilitate your Organization’s use of the Services, we will collect your email address and information to complete your Organization’s profile. You will also have the option to include your name, employment information, and optional details about your Organization and its goals. Handprint collects this information with your consent, and we use it to connect your Organization with Talent and to provide other Services your Organization requests.
From Referrals, with a legitimate interest. Our trusted third-party affiliates may provide us with contact details about potential Talent or key contacts with potential new Organizations (“Referrals”). Our Referrals collect and disclose this Personal Information to Handprint according to the Referral’s own privacy practices, not ours. We receive this information to achieve our legitimate interest of promoting the Services and onboarding new Talent and Organizations.
From your communications on the Services, with your consent. If you fill out a form on our website or request information about our Services or other resources we offer, we collect your name, email address, and other information you might include in your message. We collect this information with your consent and use it for the purposes stated at the time of collection, to provide you with our Services, and to communicate with you or send you promotional information according to your preferences.
If you send, receive, or engage with messages with others on the Services, we will collect the contents of the message and track message delivery and receipt. We may also use automated technology to scan message contents to identify content that violates our Terms of Use or policies.
Automatically from your use of the Services, with a legitimate interest. Handprint uses cookies and related technologies to collect technical data, including some Personal Information from your interactions with the Services. For example, we may collect data related to your (i) browsing history; (ii) content interactions; (iii) device information (e.g., IP address, operating system, browser type, device ID, mobile network information, caller ID); (iv) usage details (e.g., traffic data, communication data and the features or resources you access and use); and (v) stored information (e.g., metadata). Please read our Cookie Notice for more information. We collect this information to achieve our legitimate interest of providing and improving our Services.
Other data uses. Handprint might also use Personal Information for internal purposes like to improve or develop new Services, monitor your compliance with our agreements, or enforce this Privacy Policy. If we believe it is necessary, we might use Personal Information to identify, contact, or bring legal action against persons or entities who may be causing injury to you, to us, or to others. Handprint reserves the right to use any data on the Services as needed to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or court order. We are also free to use your Personal Information for any purpose for which we have your consent.
We will not collect additional categories of Personal Information or use already collected Personal Information for purposes that are materially different, unrelated or not reasonably necessary or compatible with the original purpose without notice and consent to you as required by law.
Handprint does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 16. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Information from a child under 16, we will promptly delete that information. Please contact us here if you believe we have received information from a child under 16 or any unauthorized information.
It is Handprint’s policy to retain Personal Information only as long as necessary to provide the requested Services. Talent profiles are retained until the Talent deletes their profile or cancels use of the Services. Personal Information on our marketing lists is retained until you opt-out or we determine that the information no longer serves our business purposes. Data collected from cookies is retained for up to 24 months. Other types of data are retained and disposed of according to our company policies. We may retain Personal Information for longer if it may be the subject of a legal claim or may otherwise be relevant for future litigation. We periodically review and securely delete or de-identify unnecessary data.
In the preceding 12 months, Handprint has disclosed identifiers, employment and education information, and internet or similar activity to third- party recipients for a business purpose. We may disclose this information to the following recipients:
Organizations. A core element of our Services is helping Talent and Organizations to connect for job search and recruitment purposes. Organizations can see a modified version of Talent profiles that hides name, pronouns and any photos. The full Talent profile is available to the Organization after the first round of review. Organizations may collect or retain information in Talent profiles according to their own human resources and privacy policies. You should assume that any information you include in your profile is viewable by other users at various stages of the search and recruitment process. You can edit the content of your profile at any time.
Service Providers. Handprint’s third-party service providers may have access to your Personal Information to perform their contractual obligations to us. We use a variety of service providers including data hosting companies, analytics services, and payment processors. The type of information that we disclose to a service provider will depend on the service that they provide to us. We prohibit our service providers from selling or disclosing the Personal Information we provide, and we require all service providers to maintain confidentiality standards and appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of your Personal Information.
Other Third Parties, as permitted by applicable law. For example: if we go through a business transition (e.g., merger, acquisition, or sale of a portion of our assets); to comply with a legal requirement or a court order; when we believe it is appropriate to take action regarding illegal activities or prevent fraud or harm to any person; to exercise or defend our legal claims; or for any other reason with your consent.
Law enforcement, and other governmental agencies, at our sole discretion in connection with an investigation of any matter that is illegal or that could expose Handprint or our affiliates or subsidiaries to liability.
Aggregated and De-Identified Information. We reserve the right to disclose aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information about any individuals with non-affiliated entities for research, product development, marketing, or other purposes, without restriction.
Your Profile. Talent and points of contact for Organizations update, correct, access, or delete the Personal Information on their profile at any time. If you require assistance, please contact us here.
Handprint Emails. Handprint may send you informational or support emails based on your registration status and communication preferences. If you do not want to receive these emails, you can unsubscribe using the links in the emails or contact us here to send us an unsubscribe request. If you opt-out of marketing emails we may still send you non-promotional emails related to your profile or our ongoing business with you.
Device Settings. You can control the data we collect through automated means by adjusting your device settings, such as blocking cookies or installing a third-party plugin to control how cookies interact with your device.
Do Not Track. Do Not Track signals are signals sent through a browser informing us that you do not want to be tracked. Currently, our systems do not recognize browser “do-not-track” requests. You may, however, disable certain tracking as discussed below.

Handprint can only fulfill a Consumer Privacy Request when we have sufficient information to verify that the requester is the person or an authorized representative of the person about whom we have collected Personal Information, and to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to the request. We do not charge a fee to process or respond to a request unless we have legal grounds to do so. We endeavor to respond to Consumer Privacy Requests in accordance with the requirements of the law applicable to your jurisdiction. If we do not fulfill your request within the legally required timeline, you can appeal our response by contacting us here.
Please note that Personal Information collected in an employment or business-to-business context in the performance of your job duties to your employer may not be protected under some privacy laws.
Handprint cannot fulfill a request related to an Organization’s use of your Personal Information. Please direct your privacy inquiries directly to the Organization.
Consumer Privacy in the United States. In the United States, consumer privacy is governed by federal privacy laws covering specific industries or data uses and state privacy laws providing general consumer privacy rights. This section provides informational notices for privacy laws governing states like California (under the CCPA), Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Utah, Virginia, and other states that require companies to inform consumers about their privacy rights and provide a method to exercise those rights. Residents of states offering privacy protections (each a “Consumer”) can exercise their privacy rights as applicable to our Services by submitting a Privacy Request. We endeavor to respond to privacy requests in accordance with the requirements of the law applicable to your jurisdiction. Privacy rights applicable to Consumers may include:
Consumers may exercise these rights by submitting a verifiable request as instructed above. We endeavor to respond to a verifiable request within the timeline allotted under applicable law. If we require more time, we will notify you in writing of the reason and extension period. We will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option. Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding receipt of the verifiable consumer request. If we cannot comply with part or all of your request, we will explain the reasons in our response.
Canadian Privacy Rights. We adopted this section to provide supplemental information in compliance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”). This section applies solely to residents of Canada where PIPEDA applies (“Canadian Consumers”). PIPEDA gives Canadian Consumers specific rights regarding Personal Information offering details on an identifiable person without the inclusion of name, title, telephone number, and business address of an employee of a business or organization. The following paragraphs describe PIPEDA rights and explain how to exercise those rights.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom. We adopted this section to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”) and its counterpart regulation applicable to residents of the United Kingdom. This section applies solely to residents of the EEA and the United Kingdom (“Data Subjects”). Handprint collects and processes Personal Information of Data Subjects as a controller. We will only collect and process Personal Information about you where we have lawful basis, such as your consent, if we have a legitimate interest in doing so, or as authorized or required by law. Additionally, if you are a Data Subject and you believe we are unlawfully processing your Personal Information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
A cookie is a small file placed on your device to support features and functions on the Services. Cookies serve various purposes, such as providing security measures, ensuring the Services function, enabling certain features on the Services, running analytics, or serving or tracking advertisements. Handprint uses a variety of cookies on the Services, including:
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can block or opt-out of cookies if you wish. Handprint may provide opt-out selections in a cookie control center, or you can adjust your browser settings to not accept cookies or to notify you when you are sent a cookie. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. You can also install third-party plugins to control cookie behavior. Note that if you disable or refuse cookies or block the use of other tracking technologies, some features of the Services may not function properly.
Handprint has implemented and maintains reasonable security measures to secure your Personal Information from accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. Handprint maintains internal policies to govern the collection, processing, and handling of data. We use authentication and validation technology to safeguard your login credentials and data inputs. Access to Personal Information is limited to employees and contractors as needed to perform their job functions. We also ensure that our employees, contractors, and agents responsible for handling privacy inquiries are informed of applicable legal requirements and we restrict access to those who need that information to process it. Our security measures are appropriate to the volume, scope, and nature of the Personal Information processed and designed to meet our duty of care with respect to your Personal Information.
However, no transmission of data over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not defeat our security measures or use your Personal Information for improper purposes. Clients that create an account on the Platform are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their username and password. We encourage you to take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your account and device by choosing a robust password and signing off after each session. Handprint is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or compromised passwords, or for any activity on your account via unauthorized activity.
Handprint is owned and operated in the United States. We use technical infrastructure in the United States and other jurisdictions to provide our Services to Talent, Organizations, and Visitors wherever they are located. As such, we must sometimes transfer data across jurisdictional boundaries. If you access the Services from outside of the United States, please be aware that the Personal Information we collect about you may be transferred to, processed, stored, and used in the United States or other jurisdictions. When your information is moved from your home country to another country, the laws and rules that protect your Personal Information in the country to which your information is transferred may be different from those of the country where you live. For example, if your information is in the United States, it may be accessed by government authorities in accordance with U.S. law.
Handprint is dedicated to ensuring lawful mechanisms are employed for all cross-border data transfers. To the extent that Handprint is deemed to transfer Personal Information from the EEA to outside of the EEA, we do so on the legal basis that such transfer is necessary to provide you with the Services you choose to use.
By allowing us to collect Personal Information about you, you consent to the transfer and processing of your Personal Information as described in this paragraph. We do not warrant that our Services are appropriate or authorized for use in any other jurisdictions. Clients and other users are solely responsible for determining whether their use of our Services complies with applicable laws.
We may provide links to third-party websites or platforms or allow you to link to our Services from social media. Handprint offers this as a convenience, but we are not responsible for and have no ability to control the privacy and data collection, use, and disclosure practices of any third party. When you click on links that take you to external websites or platforms, you will be subject to their privacy policies and practices and not ours. You are encouraged to review and understand the privacy policies of such websites or platforms before submitting any information.
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time by updating this posting without notice and revising the last updated date. All changes are effective immediately when posted and apply to all access to and use of our Services. Your continued use of our Services following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
